Between 1930 and 1933 Harold Krantz lived in a boarding house known as Forrest House, located on St George’s Terrace in Perth, close and conveniently placed for work. Harold designed the first Krantz family residence which was built in 1934 at 5 The Avenue, Nedlands. Scraping together the money to purchase the land in 1933, Harold designed this innovative house shortly after his marriage to Dorothy Powell.
