One of the European architects employed by Krantz and Sheldon was Bulgarian, Iwan Iwanoff. He was schooled in the modernist style, having studied architecture in Munich, Germany, and qualified in 1946. He arrived in Australia as a refugee and began with Krantz and Sheldon as a draftsman in 1950, before departing for Melbourne to obtain registration as a qualified architect. He resumed work with Krantz and Sheldon between 1961 and 1963 before starting his own business. His trademark designs featured extensive use of glass and timber and futuristic-looking concrete blockwork for which he became internationally recognised.
